For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
Isaiah 55: 8-9

When I was seven years old, I remember sitting in my room at the window and gazing into the sky; the stars were shining brightly and magnificently on that summer night. My question was straight to the point, though innocent and humble, "God, why did you make me and why are we here?” Those were deep thoughts and questions from such a little person right? I will admit that I was inquisitive about so many things, but these particular questions were very high on my list. Honestly, I can’t remember ever getting an answer; consequently as the years went by, I would pose the same questions. I can say that I have had many experiences where the Lord has shown Himself in order to allow me to see that He does exist. I know that you have experienced those times when you know that only God could have done some things for you.

Even when I reflect on the times of my personal visitations or even the times when I have still tried to meditate on who God really is, why He would make us and what is our purpose for being here, I still cannot comprehend God in all of His totality. I can however, marvel at all of His glory and all of His grace. I also realize that our thoughts, our ideas, and our views cannot compare or begin to understand, nor can we grasp His majestic greatness. If we closed our eyes and tried to imagine with our mind, the thoughts or the ways of God or even the Excellency of God, we could not envision nor capture it, just the very essence of His a glory. We are allowed to experience His goodness and His “awesomeness” in our lives and it is revealed in everything that see (a long drive down the coast, across the country or to the many wonders of the world, all prove this).

When I consider this, I also have to consider that God may not reveal His reasoning as to why, the how, or the what, however we must be mindful of the grace given and continue to seek Him so that He can reveal His purpose to us. God spent time and effort and put thought into orchestrating His desires into fruition; his writings to us was deliberate and lets me know that my question to God so many years ago is answered throughout the scriptures. God in all of His wonderfulness just wants to be glorified in and through us! And in turn others may see and desire to know Him in His fullness as well as being able to succeed in creatively putting into words what our heart holds about the God whom we loved and serve.

Bless God for David, Isaiah and so many of the prophets who had no idea how their words would comfort many in generations to come; they would never know Jesus, never know the One who came as man and would die for man. Today, I am so thankful that He considered me and my life even before I knew or could even understand at such a young age and my soul rejoices at the very thought that even though I have not been given all the specifics, I am still allowed to see His wonders and know whatever His plan was before the beginning, before the foundations of the earth, I can trust He knows what He's doing and why. I now consider and not question, how we have been given the allusion, a hint to the magnificence, not only in all the earth but in our lives because this glory, this magnificence is not to be compared to the glory that we will see!

Until the morning, be blessed,
Cynde
