As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him. For who is God save the LORD? or who is a rock save our God? It is God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect. He maketh my feet like hinds' feet, and setteth me upon my high places.
Psalm 18:31-36

This scripture is absolutely perfect today because of the discussion I had with my daughter yesterday regarding this subject and the subjects that surround this subject. Letting go of things and believing that whatever God has planned for our life is not only perfect, but ordained. We take hold of many things because of what others say about what they think we should be doing. Many would have you to believe that this is the normal way of life or better yet, we have been conditioned to think this is the way. Man’s ways are not God’s ways, however, we succumb to them because we have been taught that this is the way it should be or the way that we should live our lives. Having the opportunity to hear a clear and concise word that speaks to how you are feeling is so freeing! Not that I need validation, but it confirmed in my spirit that which I already knew. That deserves a “bless God!” Truly, my daughter's wisdom ministered to me and there is nothing like putting things in the right perspective.

At what point in life, did we miss what God was saying to us. I remember being seven and in my room looking out the window and asking God, "why did you make me and why are we here?" Apparently, I didn't wait to hear His answer or I wasn't listening because I would have made some different life choices. Nonetheless, His mercy and His grace waited for me to hear, even though I was so far past seven years old when I finally heard. Most people go thorough life never knowing God’s purpose for their lives. Consequently, we live beneath our privileges when we don't take advantage of who God has destined us to be and to do; we limit our own potential. Who is man to tell us how we should be living? Our daily lives and our daily makeup after becoming an adult is dictated by society to go to work, stay all day, go home, fix dinner, get the kids ready for school, try to spend quality time with our loved ones, go to bed and start all over again the next day with the same routine. We repeat this process because we’ve been programmed to have a certain mindset or mentality from birth to retirement to death; provided you make it to retirement and is this where our trust and our hope lies? Don't misunderstand me, there is nothing wrong with that path or that plan if that works for you, but make sure that you are not so busy on that path that you miss life and God speaking to your purpose for life. The Lord reminds me that His way is always perfect, His Word has been proven and He is my refuge, my shelter and my preserver. He provides strength, protection, and firm footing that will take me to the high places that He’s prepared for me. For who is God except God?

God stands true to His promises. We say all the time, without even thinking and most times without truly believing in our hearts, “let go and let God.” Don’t we? However, that is sometimes easier said than done, in most cases and I think because it sounds good and it somehow makes us feel better. But trust me, it is not about a feeling! It’s about what you know to be true; what you know to be real, or having had experienced it for yourself. It is a testament as to what you know the Lord can do and then standing on that, no matter what you have been faced with, i.e., loss, layoffs, etc., look at the blessing and potential in it and not be overwhelmed by it. We draw strength from His Word and that takes us from faith to faith. We realize that, it is God and God alone, as soon as we let go of the other stuff we’ve learned, a deprogramming if you will, the Lord can take us to higher places in Him.

How many times have we tried to figure out "the how, the why me, the what am I going to do, the when Lord?" Not saying that we don’t trust God or have faith but what if we started saying, "thank you Lord, because I don’t know why or how, or what, or when, but I do know that you said in your Word, “that ALL things work for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to His purpose." Maybe He is getting us ready for something bigger, our ministries, and or perhaps our own businesses, blessing us to be a blessing as intended; the possibilities are endless because God is infinite, and shouldn’t we be looking for that as well? Honestly, I had to say, Lord, please help me; help me not to get in Your way, help me to hear your voice, your leading so that I can make wise choices; help me to let go and let you work in me and through me. Help me to have the faith to believe that you’ve already worked it out for my good. Help me to stand in the midst of it all and believe that it is God that makes my way perfect if I trust Him. God can work in our lives in leaps and bounds if we would let Him. He that girds or surrounds us, He that makes our ways perfect, He that makes ways out of no ways, He that keeps us from falling, He that sets us in high places and establishes us. If we could change our mode of thinking today, start praying and meditating about what God wants and has for our lives; if we could just trust God and let go and let God be God in us and through us!

Until the morning, be blessed,
Cynde
