Let integrity and uprightness preserve me; for I wait on thee. Psalms 25:21

I know you’ve been faced with this very common question because it has lingered around in the atmosphere for years, “what do you do when you don’t know what to do?” “What do you do when you have done everything you can do?” Each person that has asked that question has a different circumstance or dilemma they are facing, yet the response at the end of the conversation, must be the same. In that, our total reliance, our confidence and our trust must be in the Lord. David conveys that message here in spite of what was going on. He had the confidence and he had hope that God would deliver and restore him. We have to put our complete trust in the fact that we believe that the Lord is going to protect us, sustain us, and uphold us while we wait. Especially when we don’t know what to do and He has not instructed us to move in one way or the other. It would be pleasing to God if we could just stand still and wait, as hard as that may be and not try to help Him help us. It would also help if we didn’t get weary and faint, but the scripture tells us that He even gives power to the faint; and to them that have no might He increases strength. God is faithful and He will keep His promise to deliver us if we could just wait on Him.

Our integrity is the basis of our testimony; our ability to maintain our morals and principles; our standards, our honesty, and most importantly, our uprightness is what preserves, what keeps us while we are waiting. We hinder our blessings with our impatience, our doubts, our anxiousness, and especially our anxieties; not having the faith to believe that God can work out every detail for us will delay our deliverance and usually throws us into state of panic. We stress and worry about things that may not ever happen or come to fruition. We have to make our conversation during this time, personal, “Keep me Lord, keep my mind, keep my heart and help me also not to be ashamed as I wait, nor become disappointed because I have put my trust in you. No matter how things look on the outside or all around me. Even if all hell breaks loose, continue to let the fullness of Your joy (Psalm 16:11) keep me while I wait for you; let your righteousness, and the richness of your entire Being embrace and maintain me while I continue to put my hope in You, the God of my salvation.”

Others may not ever understand who you are, or why you do what you do, or why God has you going through the things you do, just as long as you know (or not) and you are pleasing to God is all that matters and He gets the glory. It doesn’t matter who stays in your corner or who goes; even if some have turned against you … God is always there and He is working it all out for your good… they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Tell the Lord today, I’ll wait for you with confidence as you work things out for my good and for your glory!

Until the morning, be blessed,
Cynde
